Resilience in National Hockey Final

In an exhilarating showdown at the Tier 2 National Hockey Final, the St Lawrence College U16 Girls’ team showcased extraordinary resilience against Redmaids’ High School. Despite facing a daunting 2-0 deficit at halftime, they mounted a sensational comeback, ultimately drawing the game 2-2 in regular time. The match held spectators on the edge of their seats as the St Lawrence College team fought hard to turn the tide in their favour. With time slipping away, their determination was rewarded in the final minute, as they found the back of the net, equalising the score and setting the stage for an epic finale.

As the game transitioned into a nail-biting shootout, both teams gave everything, knowing that victory hung in the balance. In a testament to their unwavering spirit, the St Lawrence College girls displayed remarkable composure and skill. However, despite their valiant efforts, the shootout concluded with Redmaids’ High School emerging victorious. The St Lawrence College U16 Girls may have fallen just short of clinching the title, but their performance throughout the tournament has been incredible and they are all an asset to the St Lawrence College community. Mr Degiovanni, our Head of Hockey and Elite Performance Director praised the team’s resilience, highlighting their unwavering determination and unity on the field.

Despite the bittersweet conclusion, the St Lawrence College U16 Girls’ team’s journey to the final stands as a testament to their grit, determination, and passion for the game. As they reflect on their remarkable season, they do so with their heads held high.
