Forest School

From Nursery to Year 6, all our pupils enjoy our wonderful Forest School adventures curriculum. The extensive school grounds provide the ideal location to go out and explore, have fun and learn. Sometimes the activities take place further afield, giving pupils the opportunity to explore different environments such as the local beach, Quex Park Forest School or Betteshanger Country Park.

Learning opportunities are provided through practical sessions in an outdoor environment, including forest school activities. Children enjoy the freedom to explore and experience the natural world in all seasons and in all weathers. POLE sessions, just like forest School, embrace a holistic approach of nurturing, supporting and developing the self-esteem of every child. It is an ideal environment in which to develop innovation, problem solving, risk taking, creativity and teamwork.

There are different themes each term, adapted according to each age group. The activities include scavenger hunts, orienteering, Geocaching, assault courses, team challenges, crafts, weaving, environmental art, creating animal homes and bug hotels, den building, erecting tents, mud kitchens, using forest school tools, beach visits and roasting marshmallows on camp fires.

Pre-Prep Swimming

Did you know we have our very own indoor heated pool in the Junior School?

The Pre-Prep classes, from Nursery to year 2, have swimming lessons every week. These regular lessons help build water confidence and our experienced team of qualified swimming coaches help the children develop their skills as they work towards national swimming awards.

“The school is successful in providing opportunities for pupils of all abilities to gain academic success and develop their individual talents.”
