International Families

St Lawrence College welcomes families from all over the World and overseas pupils make up almost 30% of our total pupil population. Most are boarders, though a few live in the local area with their families and join us as day pupils.

Our international boarders participate fully in the academic and pastoral life of at St Lawrence, including the sports and activities programmes.

Admissions Process for International Pupils:

If you are interested in becoming an international pupil at St Lawrence College or, if you are a parent or agent looking for a suitable school then our admissions team are experienced with the international market and are ready to help. Please first contact us either via our enquiry form here or by emailing us at admissions@slcuk.com Following this we will be in touch via email to arrange a suitable time for a virtual tour and online meeting where you will be able to get to know us a bit better and have the opportunity for you to ask any questions that you may have.

We aim to pre-test all overseas pupils to better assess their academic needs and English level before they arrive. This is likely to be completed online. If this is not possible a level check test will be given on arrival.

Pupils from outside the UK will require a Tier 4 visa prior to entering the UK and studying at the School.  St Lawrence College is recognised by the UKVI (UK Visa and Immigration Service) as a Tier 4 Sponsor and can issue a CAS (Confirmation of Acceptance of Studies) to pupils who are offered an unconditional place at the School. Please contact our admissions team for further details.

EAL Tuition

Our EAL Centre offers small group lessons for pupils joining us who needs additional support with their English language in order to be able to access the school curriculum. EAL pupils follow Cambridge ESOL examinations, beginning with the KET or PET examinations (Years 7 and 8 pupils) and moving on through IGCSE /E2L in Year 11 (equivalent to a GCSE pass) to IELTS, which is a qualification required for university entrance in the UK, Australia and the US. FCE and TOEFL can also be prepared, if necessary.

“The school is successful in providing opportunities for pupils of all abilities to gain academic success and develop their individual talents.”
