Inter-House Dressage Competition
The competition took place on Wednesday 2nd December at Nelson Park Riding Stables. It was extremely well ridden with competitors watching each rider as they took the test, applauding and encouraging as they left the area on completion of the test. There was a great spirit of cooperation as well as a healthy sense of competition!
The results were as follows :
1st place Lodge
2nd place Bellerby
3rd Place Laing
4th place Tower
Newlands had no riders, so do not feature in the results.
Individual places and rosettes went to:
1st Joy Sahyoun,
2nd Emily Holl,
3rd Courtney Rigby,
4th Emma Johnson,
5th Becky Conn
6th Tony Ding.
Also pictured here, Reece Honour, who went first in the Dressage competition and who had a difficult horse to contend with.. Thanks to his skill, Tower House was represented in the results table.
It should be noted too, that Tony Ding was a complete beginner; he only started riding at the start of the Michaelmas Term and decided to represent his House, enabling it to claim first place from a very competitive and capable field of riders.
“All of the competitors were a credit to St. Lawrence , both in terms of their sportsmanship and behaviour with their horses,” said Dr Chris Ransom who organised the competition.
Our grateful thanks go to Nelson Park Riding Stables, in Thanet, for supplying expert advice, judges, rosettes and TLC!
