St Lawrence First XI vs the Bunburys

Freddie Flintoff and Chris Evans to play for St Lawrence First XI vs the Bunburys

KCCC Canterbury, Wednesday 21st September 2011

In November 2010 Malcolm Bluemel, owner of Planet Rock Radio and a St. Lawrence College parent, won the Children In Need Auction on the Chris Evans Radio 2 breakfast Show.

Freddie Flintoff, Ronnie Irani, Darren Gough and Chris Evans are joining the College First XI to play an exhibition match against David English's famous charity team 'The Bunburys'.

The Bunburys will include famous cricketers of their own plus the Weasley twins of Harry Potter fame.

This is a unique cricket match and brings commercial radio and the BBC together in support of a great charity.

The match will take place at the aptly named St. Lawrence Ground in Canterbury, home to Kent County Cricket, on Wednesday 21st September 2011. Gates open at 11.30am and play will commence at 1.30pm.

There is no charge at the gate, although contributions to Children In Need are more than welcome. There is ample free parking at the ground.

The College, Guests and Old Lawrentians will have the use of the Harris Room in the Cowdray Stand. There is a cash bar and refreshments are available for purchase alternatively, you can bring your own picnic hamper!

To attend, and have access to the Harris room, please inform us that you will be attending (please include names of any guests) in advance by contacting the Headmaster's P.A. Mrs V. Mills by email (only): vm@slcuk.com.

A limited number of pupils will be transported to the match from school but if you wish to take your own son or daughter, then please inform Mrs Mills of that fact when emailing her.  There is some limit on numbers, so please respond as soon as possible.

Kent County Cricket Ground is situated at : The St. Lawrence Ground, Old Dover Road, Canterbury, Kent. CT1 3NZ.
