Combined Cadet Force Field Day

Posted: 19th October 2021

Our Cadets had a fantastic time on their CCF Field Day.
The day was split into two separate round robins where the pupils moved between two sets of stands in their sections. The continued onus on the cadets to take increased responsibility meant some stands were entirely run by the Senior Cadets.
This was the first opportunity for the pupils to complete a full day of training and they threw themselves into it. Their stands included familiarisation with the air rifle, command tasks and problem-solving with the RAF section and a separate leadership/teamwork activity with the Army section. The cadets were also given the chance to try out army rations; these have changed greatly and the cadets were surprised at how tasty they were, so tasty in fact that there were none left at the end of the day!
Head of the CCF, Mr Hill said, “It was an excellent day all round and a special congratulations to Joe and Martha who were identified as the top Year 9 pupils of the day”.
