Agent Newsletter – new for 2023

Welcome to our new Agent Newsletter. I do hope that you have had a successful first half of term wherever this finds you.

Did you know that Kent is officially England’s sunniest county? We have certainly being enjoying some glorious weather at our Ramsgate campus. In October however we have been smiling despite the rain and we have just turned our clocks back one hour as we enter Daylight Saving Time so our boarders will experience more daylight in the evenings.

It has been a great pleasure to meet so many of you around the world recently, in person as well as online. As I write, I have just returned from Hong Kong and am about to head off to Madrid for the Aseproce Agent Workshop on Thursday and look forward to a busy second half of the Michealmas Term. I have listed our diary dates below and hope to meet many of you soon at the British Boarding Schools Workshop at London Heathrow, together with Natalie Dimmock, our new Head of Marketing and Development. Our Head of College, Barney Durrant, will also shortly be in Saudi Arabia, Dubai and Monaco, and the External Relations Team are looking forward to representing the school at Independent Schools Show in London.

Our Head of Admissions, Nell Young and her team, have been kept incredibly busy back in the office onboarding new students and running a range of open and scholarship events, and I am sure you will join me in thanking them for their great work. Please do not hesitate to reach out to Admissions on admissions@slcuk.com.

I am delighted to share with you a range of news below, along with links to key information I feel will be useful to you as agents. I really welcome any feedback on the newsletter and if there is anything you would particularly like to see included do let me know by dropping me a line by email, or pick up the phone. I will be continuing to enrich the information we can share with you to in turn share with your families, with the most notable of these being our 360 tour which will launch in March 2024.

Our boarding community is on the up, with over 20 nationalities represented in our 170+ strong boarding community. We are also pleased to be able to welcome may short term students from around the world. With us for one or two terms typically, they grow and enrich the diversity of our college community. I look forward to growing our St Lawrence College boarding family and continuing to work with you all.

Best wishes

Jo Ganderton-Smith

Director of External Relations
