Agent Newsletter – December 2023

As the year draws to a close, St Lawrence College are filled with gratitude for your unwavering commitment and dedication to our collective success. I am delighted to bring you the latest edition of our Agent Newsletter, infused with festive spirit and exciting updates.

Since my last newsletter, I have enjoyed meeting with agents at Aseproce in Madrid and at the BBSW in London, with my Head of Marketing and Development, Natalie Dimmock. I was also delighted to meet so many agents and families seeking boarding schools at the Independent Schools Show in London, where we had a very eye-catching beach themed stand complete with a beach hut, deck chairs, sand and waves lapping at potential pupils toes.

Our Head of College, Mr Barney Durrant, has also been busy meeting prospective families in Saudi Arabia and the UAE with Anderson Education and this week in Monaco with the Schools Show. I hope you enjoy reading in the news section below our latest interview with Barney, on the opportunities for students who would like to join us for Sixth Form and hearing directly from our students why they love boarding at St Lawrence.

Back on campus, the Admissions team, under Nell Young’s leadership, has been diligently onboarding new students, both boarding and day. We continue to welcome both long and short-termers from around the globe. For the current academic year, we are almost at capacity in Bellerby House, our Girls Senior boarding home, however, we do still have spaces in Kirby House for boys and girls from Year 3-8 and Lodge and Tower Houses for boys in Years 9-13. Please contact the Admissions Team if you have any potential clients who would be delighted to help on admissions@slcuk.com.

As we prepare for the holiday season, our Boarding Houses are also abuzz with festive energy, adorned with decorations and Christmas trees. We eagerly anticipate concluding the term with a performance of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland on 12th December and the joyous Festival of Lessons and Carol Service on 14th December, to which all parents, agents and guardians are invited. Please find below diary dates for recruitment in early 2024 – we look forward to meeting many of you in China, Thailand, Hong Kong and Barbados.

May I conclude with sending you Season’s Greetings from Ramsgate, Kent, and as we prepare to celebrate Christmas on campus, I extend my warmest wishes and gratitude for your continued partnership.

Best wishes,

Jo Ganderton-Smith
Director of External Relations
