Specialist Language Support
Our English as an Additional Language (EAL) Centre offers specialist support tailored to each student’s needs. Lessons are delivered by experienced teachers and prepare pupils for:
- The IELTS Academic exam — often required for UK university entry
- Academic success in A Level subjects
- Effective communication, research, and writing skills
EAL lessons focus on reading, writing, listening, and speaking, as well as building the wider vocabulary and critical thinking skills necessary for higher-level study. Pupils usually aim for a minimum IELTS score of 6.5, which aligns with entry requirements for most UK degree courses.
One-Year GCSE Pathway
Some international students join our One-Year GCSE Programme before progressing to A Levels. This intensive course boosts subject knowledge, develops independent study habits, and improves English proficiency in a structured, immersive environment.
Full Boarding Life
All Sixth Form international students live in our modern boarding houses with en-suite rooms, creating a secure, comfortable, and welcoming home-from-home. Boarding life includes access to:
