Appointment of New Head of College

We are delighted to announce the appointment of Matthew Brown as the new Headteacher, effective from 1 April 2025. Matthew brings a wealth of experience, energy, and dedication to his role, and we are excited for the leadership and vision he will bring to our school community. Matthew is currently the Head of Epsom College in Malaysia, where he has demonstrated exceptional leadership in fostering academic excellence and a holistic approach to education. The entire St Lawrence College community— looks forward to welcoming in the Summer 2025 term and wish him every success as he begins this exciting new chapter in the school’s history.

Launch of 1 Year Accelerated GCSE course for International Students

The one-year GCSE course at St Lawrence College offers international students a seamless transition into the UK education system, providing the qualifications, skills, and confidence needed for the next steps in their academic journey. Designed for those aiming to enter Sixth Form and pursue future university applications, this intensive programme enables students to achieve five GCSEs, including core subjects like English, Mathematics, and the Sciences, in just one year.

With a maximum intake of 16 students, the course delivers a highly focused learning experience. Unlike other programmes for international students, it is fully integrated with the main school, allowing participants to immerse themselves in British boarding school life. Students join Year 11 tutor groups and live alongside both British and international peers, fostering cultural exchange and community spirit.

Boarding facilities are on-campus, offering en-suite rooms in a safe, supportive, and home-like environment—ideal for students living abroad for the first time. Beyond academics, a wide range of extra-curricular activities, sports, and arts ensures a well-rounded experience that nurtures personal development and new skills.
