As we move through the Spring Term, we are excited to share the latest developments at St Lawrence College, showcasing our students’ achievements and the unique opportunities available to them.
Celebrating Cultural Diversity
St Lawrence College came alive with a vibrant celebration of culture, tradition, and unity as students gathered for our annual International Day. This much-anticipated event showcased the incredible diversity within our school community, bringing together students from across the globe to share their heritage through music, dance, fashion, and storytelling. The day highlighted the rich cultural tapestry of our student body and reinforce our commitment to fostering an inclusive and globally minded environment.
Academic Achievements
Our Sixth Form students continue to impress, securing offers from top UK universities, including several Russell Group institutions. This success reflects their hard work and the dedication of our faculty in guiding them towards outstanding academic futures.
Strengthening Sporting ties in Trinidad and Tobago
Director of Sport, Seth Simmons, recently returned from a highly successful five-day recruitment trip to Trinidad & Tobago, forging valuable connections and identifying talented young athletes who could benefit from the College’s world-class facilities and coaching. The visit, organised with the support of Beach Education, included a dynamic recruitment fair and productive meetings with key figures in the region’s sporting community.
International Sporting Exchange
Two of our students, Max and Edward, have embarked on a six-week cricket exchange at St Benedict’s School in Johannesburg, South Africa. This immersive experience enhances their sporting and personal growth, reflecting our dedication to offering students exceptional global opportunities.
Enhanced Community Engagement
We are excited to announce a partnership with Thanet Athletics Club, designed to promote athletics in our local community. This collaboration will provide students with enhanced training opportunities and foster a strong culture of physical fitness. These exciting developments demonstrate the exceptional sporting opportunities available at St Lawrence College.
Outstanding Speech & Drama Success
Our students recently excelled at the Thanet Speech & Drama Festival, showcasing their exceptional talents in public speaking, acting, and performance. Many of our students hone these skills through LAMDA (London Academy of Music & Dramatic Art) examinations, which help develop confidence, communication, and creativity—valuable skills for future success.
