College Accountant

This is an opportunity for a qualified Accountant to oversee the management of the accounting function within a thriving co-ed Boarding and Day school.

 

The College Accountant is a senior member of the Bursary management team and should and hold a recognised professional accounting qualification e.g. ACA, ACCA.

 

Whilst leading the Accounts team and ensuring that all financial matters are dealt with in accordance with legislation and ethical accounting practice, the Accountant will play a role in the development of the College financial strategy.

 

The ability to work directly with staff, parents and students is an integral part of this role as is the general understanding of the College’s academic and education ethos. Personal qualities will include a firm but fair attitude combined with the capacity to develop good personal relationships with the ability to lead and collaborate.

 

The appointee will take a leading role in guiding the College on technical issues relating to employment, tax planning, fundraising, commercial trading and building projects

College Accountant Job Description

Boarding Gap Tutor

Fixed Term Contract (One Academic Year), 40 hours per week, term time only

St Lawrence College is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Boarding Gap Tutor to join our dedicated staff team to make a full pastoral contribution to the extra-curricular life of this busy school. The position presents a unique opportunity to live and work in a boarding and day school. The ideal candidate will have employed, voluntary or family experience of taking care of children aged 3 to 11 years and a keen interest in coaching sports. The role would be suitable for school leavers, graduates or those with recent experience of working with children.

Boarding Gap Tutors quickly become an integral part of the School family. The role is to support the children, assist the Teachers and Boarding staff and, wherever possible, to bring their strengths and interests to the fore, to the benefit of the community as a whole. The successful candidate will be an excellent role model for the children, being energetic, responsible, organised.

JD – Boarding Gap Tutor

Assistant Boarding House Parent

28 hours per week, plus two overnight duties, term time only

St Lawrence College is an independent school for pupils aged 3 to 18 years, situated in Ramsgate, Kent. We are looking to recruit an Assistant Boarding House Parent to support our Junior School pupils. The 28 hour day and evening hours will be spread across Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, the overnight duties for which accommodation will be provided will be on Wednesday and Friday nights. In addition, various weekday evening and weekend daytime and evening shifts may be required on an ad-hoc basis when cover is required.

The successful applicant will work closely with the existing Boarding House staff to safeguard and promote the welfare of boarders and to act as a point of contact for parents, guardians and staff, they will provide pastoral care, guidance and advice as necessary and promote a homely, family feel within the boarding house, ensuring that the children feel safe and secure at all times. Under the guidance of the Head of Kirby Boarding they will plan and lead on a range of activities and excursions, ensuring the necessary risk assessment paperwork is completed, that records are made and pupils’ experiences are documented for social media channels.

The position would suit someone with previous experience of working with children in a boarding environment, although this is not essential, as full in house training will be provided.

Assistant Boarding House Parent Job Description

 

Boarding Activities Tutor

Saturdays 5hr 30min per week, Term Time only

St Lawrence College is an independent school for pupils aged 3 to 18 years, situated in Ramsgate, Kent. We are looking to recruit an Boarding Activities Tutor to support our Kirby House pupils aged 7 to 13 years.

The successful applicant will work closely with the existing Boarding House staff to safeguard and promote the welfare of boarders and to act as a point of contact for parents, guardians and staff, they will provide pastoral care, guidance and advice as necessary and promote a homely, family feel within the boarding house, ensuring that the children feel safe and secure at all times. Minibus Driver

(zero hours contract, term time)

 

We are looking to appoint mini bus drivers to work on a zero hours, term time only basis driving pupils to and from school via the designated school routes. In addition to driving duties, you will be required to ensure that the minibuses are maintained in clean and good condition which may involve some basic maintenance work. You will be required to attend a number of training courses prior to the start date.

JD Driver Minibus

HR Coordinator

St Lawrence College is an independent school for pupils aged 3 to 18 years, situated in Ramsgate, Kent. We are looking to recruit an experienced and versatile HR Co-ordinator to join our busy team.

The successful applicant will work closely with the HR Manager to ensure all administration tasks are complete, including the recruitment of staff and maintenance of personnel files. They will also support with HR queries across the school ensuring compliance with current legislation and College procedures, guaranteeing confidentiality at all times.

The postholder is required to deliver accurate and timely administration for payroll. Previous payroll experience would be an advantage but not essential as full in house training will be provided.
