(Part-time/52 weeks)

We are looking to recruit two reliable and friendly team members to join our busy Domestic Services team.

As part of the Domestic team you will ensure that the appearance and cleanliness of our College buildings and Boarding Houses are kept clean and presentable to the best possible standard.

Our cleaning team play a vital role maintaining the College. The role available could include day to day cleaning across a wide variety of areas including offices, circulation areas, teaching rooms, bedrooms, bathrooms, etc. It is essential to be proud of the contribution you make to the positive College environment, and be passionate about delivering excellent results.

Experience is useful but not essential as training is provided

Working hours:

Monday – Friday: 05:00am – 09:00am (20 hours per week/52 weeks)

Or

Monday – Friday: 08:00am – 12:00 noon (20 hours per week/52 weeks)

Some Saturday and Sunday hours will be required.

Full-Time, 1 Academic Year Fixed Term Contract, 40 hours per week, term time only

St Lawrence College is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Gap Tutor / boarding assistant to join our dedicated staff team to make a full pastoral contribution to the extra-curricular life of this busy school. The position presents a unique opportunity to gain experience of working in a school; the role combines pastoral care in both the boarding and day school and provides greater depth of staffing for key school activities and lessons.

The role would be suitable for either school leavers during a gap year, graduates with a related degree or gap-year students during studies. This is a fantastic opportunity for those who are considering a career working with children or looking to gain valuable experience in a school environment prior to university.

The Gap Tutors quickly become an integral part of the School family. Their role is to support the children, assist the duty staff in appropriate ways and, wherever possible, to bring their strengths and interests to the fore, to the benefit of the community as a whole. They are regarded as members of staff and so the usual professional standards are expected of them at all times.
The successful candidate will be energetic, responsible and organised as well as have the ability to work supportively and encouragingly with the pupils in our care. They will be an excellent role model and demonstrate a willingness to take on challenge and contribute to the success of the school.

Ideally, this is a residential role and accommodation is provided free of rent, rates and other charges – this does not, of course, extend to any income tax or personal tax which may be levied from time to time under National legislation.  The insurance of your personal belongings and chattels in the property will be a matter for you to take care of.

The role is a fixed term contract for one academic year, term time only. The successful candidate will work 40 hours per week Monday to Friday (hours range from 7am to 9pm), with weekend duties on a rota basis (one day off in the week and one day off at the weekend).

Marketing & Communications Manager

We are looking to recruit an exceptional Marketing & Communications Manager with proven experience of working in marketing and communications, to join our school.

This is an excellent opportunity for an individual to work with key colleagues and lead on innovative, efficient and effective marketing strategies and to publicise and promote the ethos and successes of the College. The successful candidate will work with the Director of External Relations to design and implement a Marketing and Communications Strategy that engages parents, inspires students, and attracts teachers to this wonderful school.

Prospective candidates should be willing to be involved with the wider life of a busy boarding and day school.

Working Hours:

Full-time (52 weeks) 37.5 hours per week
Monday to Friday 08.30 to 17.00

A flexible attitude to working hours is necessary, however, as the post holder will be required to work additional hours, in the evenings or at the weekend, when the pressure of work necessitates it and for events such as open mornings or music, art and drama performances.

Job Description

Grounds Person

We are looking for a motivated Grounds Person to join our dedicated team to maintain and enhance our high-quality grounds and sports areas. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering a responsive and exceptional grounds maintenance service across all areas of the school.

Working under the Head of Grounds & Gardens the role will include, but is not limited to, maintaining playing surfaces and landscapes, marking out and setting up playing surfaces, maintaining paths drives, fences, hedges and woodland. There will also be an element of maintenance to grounds vehicles and specialist horticultural tools and seasonal tasks, such as snow clearance and gritting.

You would be required to hold a valid UK driving licence, have proven experience in grounds maintenance and be proficient in operating grounds maintenance machinery (strimmers, hedge cutters, mowers, tractors).

A relevant qualification in grounds or gardening (sports turf maintenance, RHS General Certificate in Horticulture, PA1 & 6 spraying qualification) and good horticultural knowledge would be desirable.
