We are looking to appoint a driver to work on a zero hours, term time only basis driving pupils to and from school via the designated school routes.  In addition to driving duties, you will be required to ensure that the minibuses are maintained in clean and good condition which may involve some basic maintenance work.   You will be required to attend a number of training courses prior to the start date.

Maintenance Team Member

We are looking to recruit an experienced and reliable General Maintenance Team Member to join our Facilities Team.

This a permanent position and duties will include; targeting leaks to showers and bathrooms, repairing any associated water damage, repairs to doors and furniture and general maintenance type duties.

To be successful in this role you will be able to work independently to a high standard, taking pride in the quality of work is essential. Experience in fault finding, general plumbing, carpentry and decorating skills are essential as well as working safely and methodically.

This position will support the Facilities Co-ordinator in completion of other tasks as directed to support operations of the department and ensure College buildings are kept in good repair.

NVQ Level 2 in Building Maintenance preferred or evidence of relevant experience.

Working hours;

Full time 37.5 hours

Mon-Fri 08:00 – 16:00

Saturday 08:00 – 13:00 (7 per year)

The requirements of this role will necessitate occasional evening and weekend work as well as providing cover for the Caretaker role as necessary.

Catering Services Assistant

37.5 hours per week / 44 weeks per year

St Lawrence College is a successful co-educational, day / boarding school for children between the ages of 3 and 18 years.

We are looking to recruit a Catering Services Assistant to work in our busy kitchen where we prepare food for pupils and staff within the College.  A basic knowledge of food hygiene and preparation with relevant experience is required.

You would be required to work evenings and weekends on a rota basis so a flexible approach is essential. You should enjoy working as part of a busy team and be keen to develop your skills.

Catering Commis Chef

We are looking to recruit a Commis Chef, with a genuine ambition to learn and advance skills with an aim to having a great career in hospitality.

Working alongside the kitchen team delivering a first class service to the staff, students and visitors to the College. The Commis chef will ensure the quality of dishes being prepared are consistent and meet the standards of the Executive Chef. They will have a passion for food, be a team player with a positive and enthusiastic attitude and hold a full driving licence.

You will get the chance to work with a huge variety of ingredients, prepared using lots of techniques.

What are we looking for?

  • Basic cooking skills with the desire to learn new culinary skills.
  • Passion, enthusiasm and creativity in the kitchen.
  • The ability to adhere to food hygiene and health and safety regulations.
  • The ability to maintain accurate kitchen logs and records.
  • Someone that can work under pressure in a fast paced and busy kitchen.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Team player and able to support colleagues at all times and assist were required

Working hours;

32 hours per week, 5 over 7 days, 52 weeks a year

Core hours will be issued but some flexibility will be required for functions

Admissions Officer

We are looking to recruit a Part-Time Admissions Officer, ideally with proven experience of working within a busy school environment.

This is an excellent opportunity for an individual to join our Admissions Team to support our efficient and effective pupil recruitment strategies and to promote the ethos and successes of the College. The successful candidate will work with the Head of Admissions to ensure pupils have a seamless introduction and start to school life at St Lawrence College.

Working Hours:

Part-time – 24 hours per week, 40 weeks per year

Monday to Thursday: 8.00am to 1.00pm

Friday: 8.00am – 12 noon

Saturdays: Occasional Saturday work will be required for which time off in lieu will be given

A flexible attitude to working hours is necessary, however, the post holder will be required to work additional hours, in the evenings or at the weekend, depending on the needs of the College.
