On Saturday, 20th May 2023, a group of our Y6 pupils took part in the ‘Thanet Junior Schools Netball Tournament’ which was held for the first time at our own Newlands netball courts. It was a great pleasure to host teams from fourteen local Junior Schools at our school for this very exciting community event. St Lawrence College Junior School pupils’ Olivia, Holly, Tiggy, Florence, Farrah, Riyon, Preeya, Darcie, Miller and Lexie all played exceptionally well winning six out of their seven competitive matches in the knock out rounds and earning themselves a place in the semi-final. Following a nail biting semi-final match against Wellesley Haddon Dene, which was won with a golden goal, the players went on to triumph in the final. Congratulations must go to this group of pupils who not only played with exceptional ability but also conducted themselves with commendable team spirit throughout the competition. Our thanks to everyone at Thanet Netball League for organising such a brilliant morning of netball.
