Mike Bolton’s career was spent teaching in Grammar, Comprehensive and Independent schools. He read History at Lancaster University and gained a Post Graduate Certificate in Education at Sussex University. He was a Housemaster at a boys and then a girls boarding house and subsequently Senior Deputy Head at Sevenoaks School. He then became Acting Head at St Lawrence for a term. He was made an MBE in 2009 for services to Education. He has served as a Governor in three schools and is Chairman of Sevenoaks Almshouses.
