Record-Breaking Moments
Two exceptional athletes etched their names into the St Lawrence College record books:
- Patrick set a new Senior Boys Discus record with a powerful throw of 28.90m, earning crucial points for Deacon.
- Gracie cleared 1.41m in the Senior Girls’ High Jump, setting a new school record and helping Clifford rise in the field standings.
Sprint & Middle Distance Highlights
The sprint events thrilled the crowd, particularly the Senior Boys 100m and 200m, where Newlands athletes showed explosive pace to lead the field. In the 800m and 1100m, Bellerby’s Senior Girls ran with endurance and precision, sweeping the top spots in both races.
The Kirby Contribution
For many of our younger pupils in Kirby, Sports Day was their first taste of the school’s big-stage competition. The excitement was contagious as they competed with focus and determination, cheered on by older pupils and staff. It was a joyful display of potential and promise and a reminder that Sports Day is about growth as much as glory.
Relay Drama & House Spirit
The relays never fail to thrill—and this year was no different. In a tightly contested Senior Boys 4x100m, Lodge edged out Newlands and Tower in a nail-biting finish. Meanwhile, Bellerby’s Senior Girls led their race from start to finish with precise baton work and coordination.
Congratulations to All
Well done to every student who took part, supported their House, or cheered from the sidelines. Special thanks also go to the Sports department and staff for organising a smooth, spirited and successful day of sport.
Sports Day 2025 was more than a competition—it was a celebration of talent, teamwork, and tenacity.
