We are currently recruiting for:

Catering Services Assistant

We are looking to recruit a Catering Services Assistant to work in our busy kitchen where we prepare food for pupils and staff within the College. A basic knowledge of food hygiene and preparation with relevant experience is required.

This role is 4 days over 7, 24 hours per week, term time (34 weeks per year) and will include some evenings and weekends. You should enjoy working as part of a busy team and be keen to develop your skills.

Groundsperson

A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join our highly motivated and award-winning Grounds Team. This is a key role within the department which will help to ensure the grounds are maintained to an excellent standard providing a professional impression to all visitors, parents, pupils and staff.

 

The role reports to the Head of Grounds and duties include both hard and soft landscaping and grounds maintenance, so a high level of experience in using turf and grounds care-related machinery is desirable although training and guidance will be provided for all machinery. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 3 years relevant experience in landscaping or grounds maintenance, or a proven track record demonstrating equivalent skills and expertise.

 

Key Responsibilities:

· To deliver a high-quality grounds maintenance service.

· Support and assist with the set-up of sports fixtures, tournaments and events.

· Ensuring that all grounds are kept clean and tidy

· To achieve high standards and knowledge of both artificial and grass pitch maintenance for cricket, rugby, tennis, hockey and netball.

· Ensuring that all machines, equipment and facilities are well maintained.

· Reporting any issues or opportunities to the Head of Grounds.

· Working flexibly to meet the needs of the role.

· Full clean driving licence.

 

This is part-time position working, Monday to Friday, 20 hours per week, 52 weeks per year. Occasional work on weekends may be required.

Residential Caretaker

We are seeking experienced and dependable Caretaker to join our dedicated Facilities Team at St Lawrence College. These permanent roles are essential to maintaining the safety and upkeep of our campus. This is a live-in position, and accommodation with utilities covered is provided as part of the role.

Key Responsibilities:

· Secure the premises according to routine procedures.

· Act as the first point of contact for fire alarm activations outside of normal College hours.

· Support the maintenance team with general repairs and tasks related to the upkeep of college facilities.

· Assist with routine compliance checks.

· Perform reactive repairs to buildings and systems as needed, ensuring issues are addressed promptly until permanent repairs can be made.

Essential Requirements:

· Ability to work independently, ensuring tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.

· Previous experience in reactive repairs and general maintenance.

· Full Driving Licence is preferred.

· SIA qualification (or equivalent) or relevant practical experience is an advantage.

This role operates on a shared rota with another residential caretaker, flexibility is key. Due to the nature of this live-in role, the caretaker must be available onsite to respond to emergencies and other critical needs as required.
