St Lawrence College is pleased to announce the introduction of 30 hours government-funded childcare and an expanded programme of wraparound care for Nursery and Junior School pupils, launching in January 2026. These developments reflect the College’s ongoing commitment to supporting local families and offering greater flexibility for parents with busy or variable working patterns.
From January, Nursery pupils will be able to access the full government-funded entitlement across two daily sessions, with hours now aligned to the wider Junior School day. In addition, extended wraparound care will be available from 07:30 in the morning and up to 18:00 in the afternoon, with the option for older pupils to stay for supervised supper until 19:00. This enhanced structure provides families with a smoother, more flexible school day and a consistent, nurturing environment for children throughout their time on site.
These changes have been introduced in response to feedback from parents and the growing demand for high-quality childcare that supports working routines. By broadening the provision, St Lawrence College aims to make its Nursery more accessible to families considering an independent education from the earliest years, while continuing to deliver the warm, supportive, and academically enriching environment the school is known for.
Head of Pre-Prep, Sarah Peskett, said:
“We are delighted to be extending our Nursery provision in ways that truly reflect the needs of modern families. These developments not only support parents with greater flexibility but also ensure that our youngest pupils benefit from the same warm, enriching experiences that define St Lawrence College from the very start of their educational journey.”
Current families will be offered priority access ahead of the January 2026 launch, with additional spaces released subject to availability.
