We are proud to announce a new partnership with Pickleball Complete Academy and Pickleball England. This marks an exciting development that reflects our commitment to nurturing, educating and inspiring the next generation through excellence in sport.
Pickleball is one of the fastest growing sports in the world and is known for its energy and accessibility. Its introduction to the College earlier this year immediately captured the enthusiasm of pupils across the school, bringing a fresh sense of community and competition to our sporting programme.
Following this positive response, pickleball will become a fully integrated part of our Games offer from January 2026. The sport’s simplicity and inclusivity make it an ideal fit for our ambition to ensure every pupil finds a sport where they feel confident, challenged and supported.
Demand has already exceeded expectations. Pupils currently enjoy five dedicated pickleball courts within our sports complex, and due to the rapid growth in participation we are adding two additional courts. This expansion strengthens our curriculum and creates new opportunities for coaching, training and wider community involvement.
We are pleased to be working with Scott Tift, Director of Schools Development at Pickleball England. His expertise will help us deliver high quality coaching and establish a strong foundation for the long term development of the sport at the College.
Through this partnership, we aim to become an official Pickleball National Hub. This will create a centre of excellence for young players in the region and open access to weekly coaching, specialist sessions and competitive pathways that will support the development of future talent.
As interest in pickleball continues to grow across the world, St Lawrence College is proud to embrace innovation while staying true to the values that have shaped generations of pupils on our fields and courts. Pickleball now becomes part of that ongoing story, a sport that reflects our belief in opportunity, teamwork and ambition for every child.
