St Lawrence College Welcomes Global Representatives for an Inspiring Familiarisation Visit

Posted: 9th May 2025

We were proud to welcome 15 esteemed global representatives this week as part of a special familiarisation trip, showcasing the outstanding teaching, nurturing care, and exceptional boarding experience that define our school.

Over several days, guests immersed themselves in school life—experiencing firsthand the vibrant, inclusive atmosphere that makes us so special. From engaging with students in the classroom to witnessing our world-class facilities and pastoral care in action, visitors gained a deep appreciation for the balance we strike between academic excellence and holistic development.“This has been more than just a visit—it was a real window into the heart of the school,” said one delegate. “You can feel the kindness and care everywhere you go.”

Another guest added: “It’s a place I would confidently recommend—where I know our students will feel happy, supported, and truly thrive.”

Beyond the classroom, the itinerary also showcased the charm and richness of our local surroundings. Delegates enjoyed a scenic tour of the historic Royal Harbour—steeped in maritime history—and an unforgettable boat trip to visit a local seal colony, offering a unique glimpse into the area’s natural beauty and cultural heritage.

The trip offered valuable opportunities for our international partners to connect with our leadership team, staff, and students. Delegates explored our incredible award-winning campus including sports, creative arts, Junior and Senior School facilities, academic programmes and the dynamic life of our boarding community, where children thrive in a supportive, enriching environment designed to develop confident, compassionate global citizens.

Head of College, Matthew Brown, commented: “We’re incredibly proud to have shared what makes our school so special. Our students are nurtured as individuals, and we offer them a world-class education that prepares them for life beyond the classroom. We are committed to nurturing young people who are curious, resilient, and kind. We believe that education is not only the path to personal achievement, but also the most powerful force for positive change”

With glowing feedback from attendees and strong new connections formed, the familiarisation trip marks another exciting step forward  welcoming students from all over the world into our caring school community.
