Junior girls try rugby

This week the Under 11 girls had their first experience of playing rugby. The session started with some passing down the line, where the girls began to learn to run forwards and passing backwards. The moved onto some touch rugby where the began to put passing drill into practice. The girls were getting excited and were really enjoying this. They then moved onto some contact skills, first we ran into the tackle bags, making contact with our shoulders. This was followed by some practice in how to fall with a ball. By this point, the girls were desperate to to do some tackling. We started by doing some kneeing tackling, followed by standing, and then some walking. Overall, the girls really enjoyed this experience and are looking forward to doing some more in the future!
