2: More than an academic institution
A sense of belonging
As soon as you walk into any area of the Junior School, from our IT facilities to our welcoming nursery classrooms, you become aware of something special. This feeling is based on our absolute belief that in order to develop confidence every child needs to feel wanted and valued. New pupils are introduced to the school through our well-established buddy system. This system, along with constant family communication, is intrinsic to our success.
The confidence to participate
You only develop courage by knowing you'll be supported of you fall. As a sense of belonging creates confidence, the opportunity for each child to participate creates self-knowledge. Activities ranging from the Christmas Nativity Play, our annual musical, participation in successful sporting teams, science challenges, choirs, orchestra, adventure play and academic and non-academic after school clubs, mean that every child is enabled to discover their own special place.
From courage to creativity
The courage to participate leads to self-expression. By offering the opportunity to each and every pupil to create a role for themselves within a wider creative curriculum a whole new world of personal experience is opened. A child confident and sure of its unique place is a happy child; it is this that is at the very heart of our 'special atmosphere'.
