Netball is the performance sport for girls in the Lent Term. St Lawrence College encourages pupils of all abilities and ages to enjoy Netball, whether it be at recreation or team level. Seven teams operate in total so there are plenty of opportunities for players to compete against other schools. Thanks to our good facilities and dedicated coaching, players have the support to make steady improvement in their performance and game-play, whilst - most importantly - having fun. Each team has its own suitably experienced and qualified coach, whilst regular fixtures are held on Wednesdays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturday afternoons. Many girls have the opportunity to play for local teams one night a week to improve their play further.
St Lawrence College has eight outdoor netball courts and one indoor court in the new sports hall. The College runs a yearly trip to the O2 Arena to watch England play and plans are being made to run an international sports tour next year.
This years U15 team have been a really exciting, talented group. The strength and depth in this age group has allowed us to arrange fixtures for 2 teams and the A team have won the majority of their matches. The U13s have been particularly successful, remaining undefeated throughout the whole of the 2010/11 and were unbeaten last year.
We offer sports scholarships based on sporting ability and want every potential student to get this opportunity. If you feel you can offer our school a high standard of netball at 11+, 13+ or 16+ please get in contact with our registrar Alison Hall via email ah@slcuk.com
