Our award-winning careers programme ensures pupils are well-informed, well-prepared, and inspired.
Expert Guidance, Personalised Support
The Sixth Form Careers Programme is led by Mrs Semlyen, Head of Careers and Learning Resource Centre Manager. As a Level 6 qualified careers professional with over 18 years of experience, she provides:
- Unlimited one-to-one careers appointments
- Parent/guardian consultations
- Dedicated advice on UCAS, apprenticeships and international applications
The programme is structured around The Gatsby Benchmarks — the national standards for effective careers education.
Pathways to Success
Students benefit from targeted pathways and workshops designed to maximise success in competitive fields:
- Oxbridge Pathway – Interview training, entrance exam preparation and mentoring
- Medicine, Dentistry & Veterinary Science (MDV) – A proven track record of 100% success over 17 years
- Pathway to the US – Navigating SATs, essays, Common App, and scholarship options
- Apprenticeship Pathway – Vacancy searches, applications, interview prep and alumni support
Inspirational Experiences
The programme is brought to life through a range of dynamic events and resources:
- Careers lessons and tutorial series
- “Future Evening” for Lower Sixth pupils and parents
- Employer, alumni and university guest speakers
- Sixth Form careers fairs and open days
- Support on results day
University & Career Outcomes
We are immensely proud of our Sixth Form leavers and the incredible destinations they secure. The majority of students progress to leading UK universities, while others explore international study, apprenticeships, and sports scholarships.
