Michaelmas Term 2019 Senior Prizewinners announced

pupils collecting 1st place for Up-cycling competitionIn the last Principal's assembly of the year, Principal Antony Spencer was pleased to present a number of awards to our Senior School pupils for their performance over the Michaelmas 2019 term.

Three special prizes were given for the winners of the Arts Fortnight Design & Technology Upcycling Competition.

1st place went to Tom in Year 9 with his cable reel plant pot holder (see photo above)

2nd place went to Phoebe in Year 9 for her cork pin board

And 3rd place went to Jiire from Year 13 and Valerie from Year 12 with their recycled T-shirt dress (see photo below)

Then Mr Spencer announced his Effort and Achievement prizewinners this term by year group. Congratulations go to:

Back in March, before the school went into lockdown, SLC pupils participated in an exciting week of Science and Technology. From an inspiring talk led by BBC TV/Radio Presenter and science journalist, Greg Foot, to homemade hover crafts and discussions about diversity, pupils had to work collaboratively to design detailed research projects to showcase at the fair. Meanwhile, the Junior School pupils got to work creating their very own futuristic designs to showcase in assembly.
