On 25 January, eight Junior School boarding girls organised a fundraising event at which they sold hand-made friendship bracelets at a stall in the playground at the start of Exeat weekend.
The charity to benefit from this event is "Scotty's Little Soldiers" which supports children who have lost a parent serving in the Armed Forces. The girls hit upon the idea one Sunday afternoon when they were making the bracelets as a fun activity. They decided the money should go to Scotty's Little Soldiers because 50% of the Junior Boarders come from a military family background.
The sale resulted in a grand total of £188.80 raised through the generous donations given by everyone who attended the event. The pupils are hoping to hold another fundraising event in the near future.
