Junior Interhouse Netball Matches

Saturday 14th January 2012

On observation of the warm-up, Laing were going to have to work hard from the start.  Laing consisted of many of the under 14 team and Bellerby had all the under 15 netball team, meaning Laing could not afford to make many errors.

During the first quarter there was only one goal in it. Laing girls were playing very well and fighting a good battle.  Olivia Collins marked her opponent well and Michaela Brooks made some strong passes up the court. Mary Chuckwu is a very imposing Goal Keeper and Emily Fort and Sophie Mayes had to work hard in the circle on movement and more importantly accuracy.  Natasha Harrison could feel the pressure on her building and handled it brilliantly and scored a few great shots from the edge of the circle. Elyse Beddoe and Saleena Gurung showed great speed and agility on the court.

The question is did Laing crumble under the pressure and lose concentration or did the older Bellerby players just have the edge on skill and experience?

Either way Bellerby crept forward to take the lead in the final quarter and won the game 9-14.
