Arts Week at SLC
Arts Week featured a rich and varied programme of events in College this year. Evening music ranged from a concert performance of 'Cats' to 'Jazz in the Atrium', with inspiratiional performances by Ade Mosuro and OLs Tabby Webb and Chris Burgess, as well as plenty of evidence of emerging talent lower down the school. The 'Composers Forum', also offered a showcase of some innovative work in progress from the GCSE and A level music students.
This year's school play, The Lark by Jean Anouilh, was an impressive achievement, with a particularly memorable performance from Rhiannon Doogan as Joan of Arc. The audience could view a colourful and imaginative array of art works generated by the Art Department at the interval.
The week also included a poetry competition and a House Newspaper competition in which student teams compete to do justice to the week's events with journalistic flair.
Thanks go to Mr. Stubbings, Miss Vasey and Mr. Binks in the Music, English and Art Departments respectively, to Mr. Bendall for the play and, of course, to the many students who participated with energy and enthusiasm.
