Newlands

At the end of the 2004/2005 academic year Newlands – Deacon and Manor – Grange combined to make one new Day Boy House. It was decided to call the House Newlands which was the original Day Boy House which was formed in 1926. At this time the College invested in refurbished rooms and the House now boasts excellent facilities. Each year group has their own room with each pupil having his own desk and lockable locker. All rooms have computers along with wireless connections for laptops. In addition the Sixth Form have their own computer terminal on their desk. The 3rd, 4th and 5th Forms share a well equipped changing room whilst the Lower and Upper Sixth share another changing room. Each pupil has their own lockable locker for their games and CCF kit.

Currently there are 49 pupils in the House. Many are from Thanet but others travel from Deal, Sandwich, Canterbury and Herne Bay. Some of these use public transport whilst others use the minibus service provided by the College.

The House has a strong identity and enters all House competitions, both at Junior and Senior levels. Like all other Houses each pupil has a Tutor and they meet on a weekly basis.

The current Housemaster is Mr Nick Jones. His assistant is Mr Paul Graham. Other Tutors in the House are Mr Andrew Brown, Dr Colin Baker, Mr John Evans and Mr Will Arnold
