Bellerby
Bellerby House………an insider's view:-
Hi my name is Adesuwa Okunbo I am a Nigerian student in the lower sixth and I am in the girl's boarding house - Bellerby.
Everyday is a new experience for me in Bellerby because of the wide range of nationalities within. One day I could be learning how to say 'Goodnight' in Chinese and the next 'Give me all your money!' in Bulgarian! Being able to go out and socialise with your friends is very rewarding and we are able to do this on a Saturday night with town leave also allowed on a Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday afternoon.
The joys of Bellerby also include being able to compete in sport as it brings the House very close together. Whether we win or lose there is still a sense of achievement and happiness throughout the house - a real team spirit. This is the same for House Music and House Plays.
However it's not all fun and games in Bellerby, there is a very hard working atmosphere around the House and because of this most of us find it very easy to find the balance between work and play. Of course there are the odd one or two who have to work a bit harder but our housemistress is very encouraging and there are plenty of girls who have improved because of her motherly techniques.
I am sure that when I leave Bellerby I will keep in touch with all my friends because traveling around the world would be made easy. At every pit stop a friend would be only a phone call away.
