Bellerby
Bellerby is the boarding house for senior girls. It currently accommodates 60 teenagers and is still growing!
The House is split over two floors and has a range of single rooms and dormitories and there is further accommodation in Bellerby West - a smaller house adjacent to Bellerby which was converted during the summer.
The girls’ day to day needs are looked after by the Housemistress, Mrs Jennie Single, and she is supported by two resident tutors. All three staff within Bellerby take active roles in the lives of the students as well as teaching within the College.
There is a very hard working atmosphere around the House and because of this, most find it very easy to find the right balance between work and play.
When the work is done, there is plenty to do in Bellerby House, from reading in the library to playing the piano; from cross country running in the fields behind the house to relaxing in the TV lounge. You might come across the delicious aroma of Nepalese food wafting from under the kitchen door or be invited to sample a spicy delicacy from Shanghai.
The joys of Bellerby also include being able to compete in sport
as it brings the House very close together. Whether we win or lose
there is still a sense of achievement and happiness throughout the
house - a real team spirit.
This is the same for House Music and House Drama Competitions.
Above all, Bellerby is a happy House and we are always ready to welcome new members into our ever-evolving family.
