The promotion of and participation in Music is encouraged in every quarter of school and at every level, with the philosophy that music is for everyone. All pupils are taught Music up to Year 9 as part of the curriculum and the subject is offered at GCSE and A level.
Many pupils have individual instrumental lessons (including singing, music theory, Jazz, Rock and Pop) and prepare for external music exams such as Trinity-Guildhall and ABRSM.
The Music Department organizes regular trips to give and to attend concerts, both at home and abroad. The school also invites professional musicians to visit and give recitals.
There is a wealth of musical activities in both the Junior and Senior Schools, including Choirs, Samba Bands, Junior School Orchestra and Senior School Concert Band. These groups are encouraged to perform in concerts both in and out of school.
We offer Music Scholarships based on musical ability. To find our more, please contact our Registrar: firstname.lastname@example.org.
