Year 3 Trip to Wildwood
On the 6th May 2008, Year 3T and 3B set out on a lovely sunny day, to Wildwood in Canterbury for their school trip.
As soon as we arrived, we put our bags into the shade and met a man who introduced himself as Steve, who is a ranger at the park. He gave us tour, where we saw lots of animals such as deer, wild boar, badgers, arctic wolves, birds, horses and dogs, but not any kind of dogs, wild dogs!
Next, we had our snack and then went to play on the fabulous outdoor adventure playground. We were glad we had brought our hats, as it was really hot. After that it was time for lunch, which we ate in the shade of the trees.
Following lunch, we split up into small groups. Some of the groups went into the shop, whilst others went for another look around the park. We were told to meet back at the play area at one o’clock, but Mrs Topping and her group were late, because they had got lost! When everyone had arrived, we undertook a C.S.I. (crime scene investigation), called ‘Who Killed Mr Bunny?’ It was really fun working out all the clues. We had to study things that had been found at the crime scene, such as feathers and fur from different animals. We also had to investigate prints found at the scene and try and match them up to the suspects. We even had to do some chemical testing, to see if a liquid found at the crime scene was blood and try and work out whose blood it was!
Our group thought it was the stoat. After we had all finished the investigation, Steve told us who had killed Mr Bunny, but I can’t tell you, as you might have to solve the mystery one day yourself.
We were then given another chance for a play, whilst the groups that hadn’t been, went to the shop. Finally we all climbed back on the coach and headed back to school.
The next day everything went back to normal, but Year 3 and I, will never forget our day at Wildwood.
