Trip to see The Gruffalo

On Monday 10th December, Years 1, 2 and 3 went to see the Gruffalo at the Gulbenkian Theatre in Canterbury. We travelled there by coach and sang camp songs on the way. When we arrived we all had a biscuit and a drink. Then, we went into the theatre, found our seats and after about five minutes, the lights went out. There were a couple of screams as the mouse crept onto stage. I even heard a fox growling - the show had begun.

The mouse started creeping around the wood looking for food, when it heard noise. The noise belonged to a fox, who sang a song. The fox wanted to eat her up, but luckily she scared him away by saying that she was waiting for the Gruffalo to meet her. The mouse met a snake, who we really liked, especially when the snake did a dance with maracas. The mouse frightened the snake away too. Then an owl came out and asked whether the mouse wanted to join the Royal Owl Force, but his plan was to eat the mouse. The mouse succeeded in scaring the owl too with the tale of the big and scary Gruffalo. Finally, the Gruffalo came on stage and everybody screamed. The mouse then used the Gruffalo to scare the owl, fox and the snake. This was the end of the show. The show was full of songs and dances which were really great. We had a great trip and it was really, really fun.
